Ozric Tentacles - Myriapod
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Ozric Tentacles are still going. They have a sound, and an audience, and time will change neither. They are a fantastic live act and top entertainers. The trouble is that they only have the one song. I've heard many albums by the Ozrics, and enjoyed them all, but I'd be hard pressed to distinguish between any of them.

Still, today's track, from their 1994 album Arborescence is clearly one of their better ones. Myriapod is a rolling slice of space rock. It sounds like there's some metrical cleverness going on there, but the bass and drums keep everything so smooth and the band is so well oiled that you tend to forget about it. You always get the impression that some bands use odd time signatures to be clever or arch, but Ozric Tentacles always seemed to do it because it sounded good. Not a band to change your life, but they will make it a better place.
