Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay
Here's a mystery for you. It's a well-established fact that I am a grouch, a curmudgeon and a naysayer towards popular culture, purely by dint of it being "popular". So, what is going on here, with a classic piece of popular music appearing on Doklands?

I reckon it must be the seagulls. That sounds about right: the seagulls and the sound of the waves licking against the harbour wall. That must be what makes (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay so special. Because if it isn't that, it would have to be the music. And that's just too much to contemplate right now.

...well, that and it's nigh-impossible to diss on anything Otis Redding did. The first time I heard his version of "Satisfaction", I was surprised that there was a version that gave both DEVO and the Residents a run for their money.
