Keith Mansfield - Crash Course
Time to take a break from all of that theory and art and culture stuff. Here's something that's just complete froth, but still rather splendid. Keith Mansfield wrote production music and television theme tunes. Here's a piece of his called Crash Course. You can hear the classic London sixties sound still present in the music, even as seventies funk enters the arrangement. And then the electronics go crazy like Herbie Hancock at the wiggier end of the spectrum. Great fun.

i can picture the huge sideburns and pink nylon ruff shirts on them session boys!
i was at a friend's party last night, and duncan wiseby (of trunk's 'dirty fan male' fame) did a frankly jaw-dropping version of the two ronnies' theme on piano with bass and drums backing up. hazlehurst's finest hour...
