Gnarls Barkley - Crazy @ 33rpm
I was delighted at the response to the recently posted Crazy on You @ 33rpm, and thought we should have more of the same. It's difficult to find the right source material, however. You need a high voice, a rich sound and a certain unidentifiable something. It was
beaupepys that came up with the inspired suggestion that I try it with Gnarls Barkley's classic Crazy, and it worked a treat.
It needed something more, though. I loaded the song into Audacity, emphasised the retro pretence with a nice sample of some vinyl noise, and slowed that sucker right down. Just the thing for a song that seldom, if ever, was found on any physical media. I'm rather pleased with the concept, and am delighted to report that it also sounds great.
