Beatallica - The Thing That Should Not Let It Be
It occurs to me that there may be some people out there who are unfamiliar with the works of Beatallica. This should not be so. The band take a very simple premise: what would it sound like if a metal band (hypothetically speaking, let's call them "Metallica") were to play some of the music (and just for the sake of convenience, let's describe this as "Beatles music") popular in the 1960s?

The answer, of course, is that they'd cover things in unnecessary guitar solos, ludicrous layers of pomp and lyrics like the exposition from some bad horror flick. The key reason why this is so successful is that the band play this completely straight. There's no hamming it up at all, as is only proper. Ever since Spinal Tap metal has had an uneasy relationship with irony, but here it's done just right. This is taken from their debut EP, A Garage Dayz Nite, and it should certainly bring a smile to your face.

That was alright, but it was still a bit fast and high-pitched for my taste.

I hear there's a hot new act called the SUNNO'''Jays who might be just your sort of thing.
