John Lee Hooker - Boogie Chillen'
Here's the song that made a star out of John Lee Hooker. Boogie Chillen' was his first hit, released in 1948. Back then, the electric guitar was still in its infancy, but was popular in the blues clubs of Chicago, as it allowed the instrument to be more easily heard over the noise of the crowd.

This is a terrific piece of music. It's a funky rolling guitar lick, with Hooker playing unaccompanied. It's all about the momentum, always moving forward, played with a immaculate sense of the inner rhythms of the song. If you've somehow never heard this, it's an essential listen.

Thanks for that, I'd forgotten how much I like this track. Cheers.
