Bobby Previte & Charlie Hunter - All Hell Broke Loose
I blame it all on Talking Heads. They were supposed to be safe. They were supposed to be a bit intellectual. They were supposed to be a rock band. But no, someone decided to smuggle a little bit of funk into their sound, and the seed was planted.
It's terrible. It's got so that I now hear funk everywhere I go. Here's All Hell Broke Loose, from the 1999 album Come In Red Dog, This Is Tango Leader by Bobby Previte and Charlie Hunter. It's sparse and scratchy and minimal, and yet it's funky as hell.
Believe me, I never wanted this. But I can't help loving the funk.
