Roy Harper - McGoohan's Blues
Yes, I know it's a load of hippy folk nonsense.
No, I don't care.
It's Roy Harper making a defiant stand against the tide of conformity, from his 1971 album Folkjokeopus. It would be easy to mock McGoohan's Blues for its pretensions or its naïvete, or even to suggest that Harper was a bit of a pink ninja. That aside, it's far more satisfying to go with its savage, bitter flow. This is 18 minutes of magnificence. I bloody love it, and I don't care who knows.
