Edmund Welles - Is She Weird
This is just too good.
Edmund Welles is not a person. It is the name of a bass clarinet quartet. I have always been of the opinion that one bass clarinet sounds great, and with the discovery of the Welleses, I am happy to confirm that four of them sound even better. While they mostly play original music, it is not unknown for them to cover the classics. Here is one such classic: a live rendition of the Pixies' Is She Weird, recorded live at a record shop in Oakland, CA. Like simulated buggery at a political rally, the scant and polite applause that follows this track is entirely inappropriate. You will love this with every fibre of your being, or I will be forced to visit you with punches.
On an unrelated note, if anyone is going to be in Coventry city centre on Saturday, please do come along to the motor festival activities in Millennium Place.
beaupepys is going to be stuck on a stall there all day, and would welcome a bit of company, especially if it will keep the scary vintage car nutters away.
