Jackie-O Motherfucker - Black Squirrels

Jackie-O Motherfucker, or JOMF (as they are more conservatively known), are a band to be approached with caution. You can never be quite sure what you're going to get from one of their albums: it might be noise rock, it might be neo-folk, it might be laid-back twanginess, it might be a collage of all of these things. With a description like that, you might expect them to be all over the place, yet they focus all of these things through a distinctive JOMF-shaped lens.

Black Squirrels can be found on their album Wow / The Magick Fire Music. Accessible by their standards, this is a droney psychedelic hoedown. They're jamming on the back porch, as they watch the world collapsing into entropy down below them. The cars burn beautifully.
