Black Randy and the Metrosquad - Down at the Laundrymat

The late Black Randy was troubled and troubling, an insecure narcissist who loved to offend. What could be better than being rude but being loved anyway? He was the ideal rock'n'roll frontman, full of drink and cum and bad taste. He terrorised the LA punk scene for a few short years in the late '70s and early '80s before the pills and booze took their toll. On Down At The Laundrymat the Metrosquad are grinding and repetitive, and Randy mumbles and slurs his words. In retrospect, maybe the artfully damaged facade was only erected to cover the equally damaged interior. Black Randy, hiding in plain sight in the sweaty punk clubs of Los Angeles, grotesque and amazing.
