The Holy Modal Rounders - Euphoria x 3

How unlikely were the Holy Modal Rounders? They were a pair of freaks from the lower East side of New York City who played deranged revivalist folk music and were the first band to ever use the word "psychedelic". Here are three versions of their classic ode to transcendental joy (via the recreational use of deadly nightshade). Euphoria first appeared in bluegrass fiddle form on their eponymous 1964 debut. They re-recorded it in 1978 for the album Last Round, where it mutated into ragtime, and yet again in 1999 for Too Much Fun where it became a savage and demented piece of yammering. Ludicrous and utterly indispensable music from a true pair of originals.
