Goldmund - Anomalie Loop (1960 - 1969)
Goldmund is the alias of Keith Kenniff, under which name he releases sparse, minimal piano-based compositions. What saves it from austerity is Kenniff's deft touch, and the beautifully warm recording. Anomalie Loop is taken from his Corduroy Road album. It is tender, haunting music, full of a still sadness. What's perhaps most impressive is the way that Kenniff manages to do so much with so little. Each note counts, each silence has meaning; everything combines for maximal emotional impact. Lovely.
