Pearl Jam / Overpeer - Even Flow (RIAA-Mix)
The RIAA has always been serious about music. Having discovered that copies of popular songs were freely circulating on P2P networks, it soon realised that there was an untapped demand for radical new remixes of those songs. Back in 2004 it hired top media company Overpeer to create these startlingly avant garde mixes, which would feature a few seconds of the original tune and then several minutes of random electronic static. Overpeer helpfully flooded the networks with thousands of instances of these daring new musical reworkings, bringing experimental music to the masses in a brave new way. Here's one such: thrill to the startling stylistic interpretation of Pearl Jam's Even Flow. Such a shame the Overpeer guys never teamed up with chart acts on a more permanent basis.
