Brazilian Girls - Crosseyed and Painless
I could be wrong on this one, but considering how many great Talking Heads songs there are out there, bands seem to be pretty reluctant to try to cover them. Maybe they've not. Maybe I've just been subconsciously avoiding them in the certain knowledge that they would be awful. Well, most of them at least. This would seem to be a matter that requires serious investigation.
With that in mind, here's a seriously marvellous version of Crosseyed and Painless. The Brazilian Girls (who are not Brazilian, and who are mostly not girls) may have not done much to transform the rhythmic crush of this artpunk/afrofunk classic, but it's sharp and clean and the detuned percussion is a thing of neurotic splendour.
