Here's something you already know. Henry Mancini's Peter Gunn is an all-time classic, and no-one every did it better than Duane Eddy. It shouldn't be possible to grow up without hearing this and thinking it to be the greatest thing ever recorded. Not just that fantastic wailing sax, but also Eddy's famous twang. I swear when I first heard this as a kid, I didn't believe it could be a guitar making those sounds. Don't think there's been anything like it, before or since. Astounding music from 1959.
