Death in Vegas - Dirge
It would be nice to pretend that I only ever listen to tremendously obscure music. I'd be the guy who lived beyond the bounds of everyday society, an ideal Nietzschean superman unsullied by crass commercial popularity. A nice romantic notion, to be sure, and one that is clearly complete bollocks. To prove this, here's a song that featured in an ad for Levi's. Dirge by Death in Vegas comes from their album The Contino Sessions, and while it's musically very slight indeed, what there is of it is quite sublime. There are many bagatelles, fancies and conceits out there, and this, la la la, is certainly one of the better ones.
