I gotta say, the biggest surprise with Wasted Youth's We Were On Heroin is just how down they are about the whole business. Listening to Danny Spira you'd think taking heroin was an entirely negative affair. That's the sort of carping that we've come from West coast hardcore punk: none of the good times, none of the sociability, none of the wholesome times that come with recreational heroin use. Then again, it's only a minute long so maybe the subtext is they needed to finish the song quickly so they could get back around the spoon together. That's probably it. Good clean fun from the 1981 release Reagan's In.
