Desert Island Dicks - Concierto de Aranjuez (Adagio)

This must be the week when all the music gets played at the wrong speed here on Doklands. I've just found out about a group called Desert Island Dicks. Who they are I have no idea; they haven't made it off last.fm as of yet. Anyway, that's not important. What is important is that they have taken three Miles Davis albums (Bitches Brew, Kind of Blue and Sketches of Spain) and speeded up each track so that it lasts exactly 90 seconds. It's called Bring Me The Head of Miles Davis and Other Jazz Luminaries, and it's one of the odder things that I've heard of late.

Obviously this formula isn't always going to be entirely successful. But when it works, it can sometimes shock you into hearing the original in something of a new light. The music is still identifiably what-it-is, it's just been massively compressed, like a shot of Turkish coffee. The entire album is available for free download. Here's a sample for you, what would normally be the opening track of Sketches, here is the very essence of Concierto de Aranjuez (Adagio).

Do you have an e-mail address, friend? I tried to send you a couple of interesting links to the address on your website but the e-mail bounced - is there an alternate form of contact? *dusts off carrier pigeons*
I'm probably paranoid about the e-mail address harvesting abilities of spambots, but I don't like putting it in plain view. Check your LJ messages?
