Black Bombaim & Peter Brötzmann - Part III

Black Bombaim are a Portuguese power trio who play stoner/doom/space freakouts. They are unashamedly hard and heavy and not afraid of letting a bit of the 1970s into their sound. They're also not afraid of taking on collaborators with formidable reputations. Quite how they landed free jazz sax legend Peter Brötzmann for their 2016 album I do not know, and to the great pleasure of all neither party held back for that set. It's not a synthesis of anything, there's no meeting in the middle, it's a weighted boot to the nads of genre purity. Brötzmann's dry, rough tone is like sun-baked concrete, and you could say it's the tone that death metal vocalists have been emulating for years. Fearsome, uncompromising, bass-heavy rock music.
